Easily the best 2009 movie.
Frankly I didn’t expect a lot from this movie, but it was turning the TV on and being completely wowed. The Limits of Control consists in a succession of images, sounds and sentences linked together thanks to the awesome Isaach de Bankolé. The images come from Cristopher Doyle (WKW’s inseparable director of photography); the sounds from Boris, the japanese rock band; and some of the sentences from Borroughs, the beatnik poet.
All in all, watching The Limits of Control consists in an hypnothic exercise in which the viewer will have trouble to distinguish between reality and fiction. Isaach de Bankolé, a classic in Jarmusch’s films, slides into a spiral of mistery, games and temtations… Only his control over all of them, will lead him to the a succesful end.
Best. f*****g. 2009. movie.
