Lime Works / ライム・ワークス

Recently a weird photography book reached my hands. I am talking about Lime Works, a weird yet interesting concept from Naoya Hatakeyama, a famous japanese cameraman.

Lime Works is quite an atypical compilation of photographs related to the world of lime extraction, one of the few minerals Japan doesn’t rely on foreign countries and that due to its blatant exploitation has supposed the end of hundreds of islands in the Japanese shores.

The photographs depict the mines as well as the refineries, which thanks to their set of tubes and pipes look like some kind of always-growing monster.

Truly worth a look.
